So, Huxtable has an easy menu which consists a number of bite size dishes and share plates. Dining at lunch, I love a variety and the bites were my way to go!
Pimientos de Padron
PIMIENTOS DE PADRÓN are small green peppers (5-7 centimetres long) unique to Padrón, a region of South West Galicia in North West Spain, around 22 kilometres from Santiago de Compostela. Some are hot and some are not. It's a hit and miss!! I love it hahaha the first 5 were not but man..there were 3 that took me by surprise! Delish!!
There was a jalapeno and cheddar croquette, but I devoured it as soon as it was set down. One I was hungry, and Two I was salivating at the sight of a small round crispy ball filled with cheese and jalapeno!!! YUMMY!!! But up next is the...
Steamed crab and corn rice noodle with XO chilli
Gone in 2 bites, it was ok.. it wasn't a wow factor..I've eaten better rice noodles or I'd like to call 'snot' noodles hehe at a cheaper price.
Needing something a little more substantial...
Rice flour crusted oyster po' boy, ice berg lettuce and sriracha mayo
I loved every bite. The crusty bread, the deep fried oysters, and Sriracha chilli sauce (as you may know as Rooster brand chilli sauce) mixed with Japanese mayo.
Still hungry though, I felt like something cold and tangy and so I ordered..
Ceviche of scallops, octopus and snapper, chilli, lime
It was satisfying enough but I was really craving for raw kingfish with fresh birds eye chilli, coriander shoots and ponzu soy CODA staff used to make for ourselves. haha This dish was yummy but too much for just me.. I finished it though and was pretty satisfied.
I was in time for the parking metre to expire, so I had to miss out on desserts.. boo.. but there is always a next time!
I would dine at huxtable again! But I think some dishes are a little too pricey for their size.
Xx
